Exhibition: Iain H Williams "It's Not You, It's Me"

This work explores personal, mental, and physical disconnection, capturing the journey of detachment and the process of rebuilding. By deconstructing and reassembling compositions through sections and stitching, new visual narratives emerge. “It’s Not You, It’s Me” reflects both the experience of fragmentation and the creative potential to reconnect and renew.

This series has also evolved from two-dimensional compositions to three-dimensional forms, introducing surfaces and marks that bring the work to life in new dynamic & intriguing tactile ways.

Iain H Williams lives and works in Lancashire, UK. His work in abstraction explores emotion, memory, and intuition through mark-making. His compositions balance bold gestures and delicate details, reflecting the shifting landscapes of thought and feeling. Influenced by varied textures and patterns that he has photographed and recorded over the years, his pieces carry the layered aesthetics of the urban environment and personal emotion.

Guided by spontaneity and intention, Iain embraces chance and instinct, keeping his process dynamic and open to new directions.

Established in 2016, Prism Contemporary is an independent gallery set up by artists, curators and producers.

Prism Contemporary is not only a gallery space which provides a contemporary space for creatives both nationally and internationally, but we also run a studio complex alongside the gallery. 

As well as supporting existing communities of practice, cultural events and festivals, we have an ambition to originate new and creative partnerships, commissions, exhibitions, events and collaborations that challenge, inspire and engage audiences on a local, national and international level.
