Calling young creatives - Creative Step ’Design Sprint’
Just graduated or about to start your final year?
Want to be part of shaping Lancashire as an inspirational location for creatives?
Keen to learn how to apply design thinking tools and techniques to real life challenges now and in the future?
Then the Creative Step Design Sprint is for you!
Creative Lancashire has been running The Creative Step, a programme that helps creatives shape their future, for three years. The programme format is based on the tools and methods of Design Thinking, an approach to problem solving that is being adopted worldwide.
As a part of its mission to make Lancashire a beacon for creatives, we've set up a weeklong design sprint to explore how we can realise and sustain this ambition throughout the county. So, we're seeking a small group of young creatives to participate in this intense and quick-fire programme; to go from taking on the challenge for Lancashire to prototyping and testing potential solutions in just a week.
The programme is being run by Catherine Docherty and Jonathan Ball who developed and deliver The Creative Step. The programme runs Monday 16 August through Friday 20 August. Participants will need to be free each morning (10am - 12.30pm) for the full week and be available to work with their team for around 1 hour in the afternoons or evenings to prepare for the following day.
As well as learning tools and techniques that you can apply in the workplace, the process and outputs should create great portfolio work too. So, if you are interested in working with an enthusiastic group of like-minded creatives, are intrigued to learn about or develop design thinking practice and you care about Lancashire then this programme is for you. If you can commit to the schedule and would like to find out more we're still recruiting so email and one of us will arrange a call to talk you though the programme in more detail.
The design sprint sessions will be delivered remotely. Having proven the full Creative Step programme delivery offline, we’re now fully functioning remotely, applying our own tools and techniques to create an equally compelling online experience.
The programme is FREE to attend for Lancashire based students and recent graduates - subject to selection and availability.
