Conversations in Creativity

In 2011 Creative Lancashire launched Conversations in Creativity - a network and series of events where creative's from across the principles, crafts and disciplines explore how inspiration from around the world informs process. Previous events have featured Wayne & Gerardine Hemingway and Gary Aspden (Adidas Originals), Pete Fowler (Illustrator/Animation Film Maker/Designer), Donna Wilson (Designer) and a series of events during the Guild Festival with Nick Park (Aardman), Lemn Sissay (Poet) and Jeanette Winterson (Author) hosted by Dave Haslam.

Dave Kirkwood - Dave Kirkwood Studio

Dave Kirkwood
founded his art and design practice, DaveKirkwoodStudio, in 2007. Alongside their client work they develop experimental working models for generating unique solutions to core brand visual communications problems. Their commercial work is underpinned by a body of self-initiated projects and stimulated by the teaching they undertake. Previous projects include 3hundredand65 – a graphic novel created on twitter in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

"As a senior level branding expert with over 30 years experience, I have been dedicated to leading brand success by defining and implementing strategic opportunities in brand design. I deliver inspirational creative insight for Brand owners and managers stimulating design excellence by providing strategic guidance, creative leadership and technical expertise. I have a proven ability to communicate key messages, build brands, manage change, strengthen customer relationships and drive revenue through integrated communications and the development of meaningful brand equities."

Recent projects and collaborartions include The Revolution Series of cycling events, The Elterwater Merz Barn, Tony Walsh (poet), Mark Murphy, Paul Fosbury and work om a new book.

Keith Noble - Director, Forepoint

Keith Noble is a Director of the highly successful, award winning design and digital agency, Forepoint Limited. Forepoint were founded back in 1992 and have offices here in Preston and in London. The company currently employs 20 staff, 5 of whom hail from UCLAN’s Graphic Design Degree Course.

The company recently celebrated 25 years in the industry and have been recognised by both Design Week and The Drum as one of the Top 100 agencies in the UK. Listed amongst their clients are: Sellafield Limited, BAE Systems, Scandit, Moto Hospitality and the Northern Powerhouse (to name but a few). The agency specialise in everything from branding and print campaigns to websites and apps.

Kevin Darton

Freelance Designer and Art Director based in Manchester 

Kevin is a lecturer in Advertising and Graphic Communication at the University to Central Lancashire and a Uclan graduate in Graphic Design.

Prior to this he has spent the past 15 years working in the creative industries as both a Designer and advertising Creative.Over the years he has worked for clients in Arts and Culture, Retail and finance and most things in between.

Natasha Sandoval: Vice President of Marketing - Scandit

Natasha Sandoval is the Vice President of Marketing at Scandit. Prior to Scandit, Natasha’s 15+ years in IT industry include senior marketing roles in the global and EMEA organizations at Compaq, HP and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, ranging from product and channel marketing to running global campaigns and leading digital thought leadership and demand generation programs.

Natasha’s innovative approach to marketing have earned her internal and industry recognition – she is the recipient of HP’s Most Valuable Player award and the British Media Awards finalist in the 2014 Commercial Campaign of the Year category. Natasha’s work landed coverage in AdAge, IDG and St. Gallen University Marketing Review publications.

Natasha holds MA degree in Linguistics from the Barnaul State Pedagogical University and MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
